Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP)

1. Nationality

  • Must be an Indian citizen.

3. Educational Qualification

    • Trades include: Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, etc.

Option 2: Diploma or Degree in Engineering

  • Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Automobile)
  • OR a Bachelor's Degree in the above engineering disciplines

Note: Candidates with diploma/degree without ITI are also eligible.


4. Medical Fitness

  • Eye Vision: Good vision is essential. You should pass the A-1 medical standard, which includes:
    • Distant vision: 6/6, 6/6 with or without glasses
    • Near vision: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses
    • Must pass color vision test
  • General physical fitness (no color blindness, night blindness, etc.)

    • Subjects: Math, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs
    • Duration: 60 minutes

  2. CBT 2 (Stage 2)
    • Part A (100 marks, technical subjects)
    • Part B (Qualifying in nature, basic trade knowledge)
  3. CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test)
    • Only for ALP (not required for Technicians)

Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS

1. Nationality

The candidate must be any one of the following:

·         Indian citizen

·         Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

·         Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan 1962

·         Person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries (e.g., Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, etc.)

 No Tier 2 descriptive paper anymore. Tier 1 is the final selection exam for MTS posts.


 PET/PST for Havaldar Post (Only)

If you apply for SSC Havaldar (CBIC & CBN), you'll also need to pass a Physical Test.

For Male:

·         Walking: 1.6 km in 15 minutes

·         Cycling: 8 km in 30 minutes

For Female:

·         Walking: 1 km in 20 minutes

·         Cycling: 3 km in 25 minutes


Job Profile of SSC MTS

MTS employees are Group C non-gazetted posts in central government departments. Typical duties include:

Eligibility Criteria for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS)

1. Nationality

  • Must be a citizen of India.

2. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Age Relaxation (as per govt norms):

3. Educational Qualification
